A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation, freely adapted from a rock relief on the tomb of Xerxes in Persepolis through a French publication on the ruins. The king is depicted seated on his throne, with an attendant behind him and two rows of four supporters below. Above, an abstract image of Ahuramazda is shown. All set against an abrushed straw ground. The piece is framed by five borders, with a main ivory stripe featuring a blossoming floral scroll.
