An antique Persian Bibikabad carpet. The noticeably abrashed light blue to slate field is closely covered by five rows of ivory rosettes which are the salient elements of a rust-brown rosette, flower and lattice repeating pattern on this Hamadan area village carpet. Of the numerous borders, the narrow main stripe displays ‘fish’ leaves swimming in elongated oyster octagons.
