An antique Persian Bibikabad runner. The three section dark taupe field displays a small scale Herati pattern as do the ivory trapezoidal side fillers. The Herati continues unchanged on the three grey small medallions in the field sections which are finialed at the ends by cypress trees. Bibikabad is a village in the Greater Hamadan Weaving Region and is one of the few weaving large carpets as well as long runners, as here.
