Antique Persian Bidjar Carpet

A wide, abrashed rust main border of giant, reversing turtle palmettes and hooked fishy “fish” leaves sets off the abrashed medium slate field with an allover textile design of five offset columns of fringed flower-palmettes on tall stems and attached pairs of iris-like blossoms. Very solid, compact weave on cotton. Board-like handle. Good condition.
