An antique Persian Bidjar Distressed carpet. This antique Bidjar from Kurdistan in extreme western Persia displays an ecru field with a large-scale lozenge lattice enclosing garden flower and is centered by a navy medallion in a small scale Herati pattern. The pendants are big and bold, seeming to cut into the field rather than setting upon it. A navy turtle border is drawn in an informal manner. This carpet is solidly woven and Bidjars last a lifetime, even in high traffic areas and even with this shabby chic wear.
