This very solidly woven Kurdish city piece features an ascending scaliform lattice of vases, palmettes, and vinery repeated across a muted sage-green to grey-green ground, with details in coral-rust, terracotta, beige, taupe, pale olive, and soft brown. The strip-style coral-rust to muted-terracotta main border displays forked palmettes, enclosed palmettes, and angular broken vinery in ivory, tan, pale green, and brown. An unusual size for an “Iron Rug of Persia.”
