Antique Persian Bidjar Long Runner

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The greyish slate field features a multiple-repeating allover Herati design with open diamonds, prominent rosettes, fish leaves, and palmettes. Once mastered, the Herati design is easy to weave, which partially accounts for its popularity in the area. A brick border with winged rosettes and beveled pentagons encloses flower bunches. Even wear, but still in very healthy condition.
