Antique Persian Bidjar Rug

An antique Persian Badjar rug. The carefully abrashed medium slate ground displays an allover pattern centered on an ivory rosette and featuring pairs of long, thin, bent leaves at each field end. A narrow ivory stylized leaf and flower border makes a discreet frame. The weave is solid and nearly board-like. Bidjars are justly famed for their extreme durability.
