An antique Persian Bidjar Square carpet. The well-abrashed graphite field displays the classic “Garrus” forked arabesque pattern in ivory and red-brown with rust accents. The attractive old ivory border shows well-spaced red-brown winged ovals and pairs of thick, forked leaves. A solidly woven carpet in an unusual size from a town workshop in Kurdistan in western Persia. The pattern originated in Garrus, a town near Bidjar.
