The vast majority of Heriz weavings are medallion layout, room, size carpets, but, as here, small scatters do occasionally appear with artistically significant patterns. The navy indigo field shows a centralized pattern of four tall flowers converging on a center line, within a barbed and clawed green lattice, with secondary clawed palmettes. Red strip-style border with reversing turtle palmettes. Medium-coarse weave on cotton. Good condition. Excellent NW Persian village scatter.
