An antique Persian Heriz runner. Eighteen characteristic tulip palmette and pointed ivory octogramme medallions alternate on the forest green field of this rustic runner from the Heriz district in NW Persia. The brown border displays the traditional Azerbaijani rosette and slanted, serrated leaf design. The ivory box motives are particularly noteworthy.
