Antique Persian Khorossan Carpet

An antique Persian Khorossan carpet. This is a semi-geometric textile allover patterned carpet with rows of double conjoint lozenges (“bow ties”) on a pearl ground. The ivory main border of this NE Persian city carpet displays abstract ‘S’ and ‘Z’ motives pairwise to form an ‘M’ and ‘W’ pattern. A very unique room size rug.
