Antique Persian Kurd Bidjar Wide Gallery Runner

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. This rustic village Bidjar wide runner (kenareh) shows a two-by-five repeating pattern of vertically turned Salor Turkmen Merv guls with Turkmen-style secondary guls, all set on a Siena brown ground. A light brown border with boxes and botehs frames the field. The outer minor border was likely removed in the distant past.
