An antique Turkish Anatolian rug. This is a classic Konia pattern: linked star centered octagons on a red field, here within a yellow border of Melas-derived comb edged vine and palmettes, with trident lappet end panels. The design goes back at least to the 18th century and has been attributed to the village of Sizma near Konia in central Anatolia.
