Rosettes alternate with square, nine-bud arrays in the border to frame a slightly abrashed slate field with a vase less version of the classic 17th century biplanar “Vase carpet” pattern. A very wide range of palmettes adhere to the large lozenge vinery trellis and to the three upright poles organizing the pattern. This version of the “Vase carpet” design is on a smaller scale than on most Tabriz carpets and the easy motif flow makes arranging the furnishings easy. And the carpet is versatile, equally accepting formal, rustic, or contemporary décor, urban medium-fine weave. Cotton foundation.
