Antique Persian Lavar Kerman Carpet

An antique Persian Lavar Kerman carpet. The “Vase carpet” design was a 17^th century Kerman innovation and nobody does it better. Here the ivory field is covered by a delicate, highly complex almost millefleurs version with a huge assortment of palmettes, flower, leaves, and levels of vine tracery. The ivory main border is equally densely covered. There are about twenty distinct natural dye shades.
