An antique Persian Lavar Kerman carpet. In the style of earlier Lavar Kerman, this SE Persian town carpet has an abrashed charcoal field with rows of scalloped ogival medallions in ivory, buff, rose-brown, and grey-blue with a complex interstitial floral tracery with numerous palmettes and vines. The cartouche and the octofoil border is taken from classical Persian carpets and displays serpentine cloud bands.
