An antique Persian Lilihan gallery rug from the early 20th century. This Persian Lilihan adheres to the “American-style” Persian Sarouk aesthetic of the period, but with a coral ground decorated by semi-detached floral sprays. There is an openwork eight-point central medallion and a longitudinal axis around which rosette sprays, palmette sections, and small vines are organized. Medium blue in the inner border and in field elements is the second color in this antique rug.
