An antique Persian Mahal Distressed carpet. This shabby chic distressed west Persian rural carpet has a well-worn Herati design on an abrashed rust to a red-brown field, set within a khaki border of octofoil cartouches and rosettes. The ecru diagonal ‘lazy lines’ from the weaving process are especially noticeable. The height of an average lazy line is one day’s work for the weavers.
