Antique Persian Mahal Oversize Carpet

A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This exceptionally large rustic carpet displays a madder red field decorated with short, bulbous cypresses, floral octofoils, jagged curved leaves, tilted light blue palmettes, and a profusion of leaves and flowers too numerous to neatly categorize. The pale green border features corner rosettes, ragged palmettes, and additional large rosettes filling the space. Pale blue, rust, ecru, pale green, and goldenrod are among the many accent tones.
