An antique Persian Malayer carpet. The finely abrashed blue-grey field of this west Persian town wide and long carpet shows a two way pattern of sand bouquet palmettes with dark brown and orange accents. There are ebullient volute petals around dark brown calyxes. Light blue accents the field motives and grounds the secondary border stripes with their fan palmette patterns. The pattern is generally lively and mobile, not statically placed.
