Antique Persian Malayer Room Size Carpet

In the general Mahal manner, this western Persian carpet shows single palmettes, groups of four radiating palmettes, herringbone stems, and rough rosettes, all evenly and moderately closely displayed on a dark blue ground. Main border of semi-geometric reversing petal palmettes alternating with elaborate floral sprays. The field pattern slips very slightly toward one end.
