Vintage Persian Malayer Carpet

A vintage Persian Malayer carpet. The eleven dramatic dark brown palmettes of the pale powder blue-grey border are set between forked acanthus leaves and budding petal palmettes. The light brown field features pale blue ragged rosettes, ragged palmettes, and ragged lazy hexagons.  The vine sections are chunky and not ragged, however. Square Malayer carpets are quite uncommon in this size.
