An antique Persian Pictorial Kerman Carpet. In a popular Persian size format, this antique Kerman has four columns each of six identical images in ivory cartouches of a seated, bearded Sufi dervish figure, positioned between two flowers, and quartered lozenge secondary devices filling out the lattice. The colors are light with a cochineal red ground and the rug is surely antique, probably woven for a Persian devotee of the pictured subject.
