An antique Persian Sarouk Fereghan rug. A stepped navy lozenge medallion with stalk and palmette pendants is centered by a light sand sub-medallion. The ivory field is creatively covered by a small flower pattern. The mostly rose corners are edged with small-medium blue rounded tabs. The rose color, called “dughi” in Farsi, is popular in Sarouk Farahan rugs of the later 19th century.
