Antique Persian Senneh Rug

An antique Persian Senneh rug. The light blue-grey field is almost completely covered by the dense small scale allover Herati pattern presenting three connected lobe-stepped lozenges medallion is warm sienna brown and eggshell. The sienna brown border shows a roughly drawn reversing turtle palmette design. This well-woven Kurdish scatter originates in an urban atelier in the provincial capital of Sanandaj.
