Antique Persian Serapi Rug

This quality “Serapi” grade room size shows an octagonal dark blue bold central motif with a squared off fringe and flanking pairs of aggressive curved and barbed dark blue leaves, on the warm natural madder red ground. Ragged teal leaf pairs bend at each end of the field. Characteristic navy border of doubly bent laves alternating with layered scalloped octofoils. NW Persian village work of exceptional quality. Natural dyes and hand spun materials. Cotton foundation, medium and solid weave.
