This is a fine Interwar NW Persian rustic carpet showing all the characteristic of upper level Heriz work: natural dyes throughout; a cream field with a red, cartouche- shaped subfield centered by a navy and mustard four palmette medallion; navy ragged palmette pendants; amazing sub-field and field scatters of floral and vegetal elements; thrusting rose corner motives. The navy border shows an unusual bitonal rosette and inward palmette pattern. “Serapi” quality weave on cotton. Good condition with splendid natural dyes.
