A Wool pile in asymmetric knots on a wool foundation. The light blue ground features the characteristic Khamseh tribal peacocks, set against a tripartite red pole medallion composed of squares, each enclosing a partially concave red panel with more birds. The ecru border is exquisite, with a paired trapezoidal running repeat. This border is a unique creation by the weaver and is not found on other Khamseh pieces. This rug is an uncommon size for the group, as larger pieces are typically long and narrow. Good condition with a moderate weave.
