An antique Persian Silk Distressed Kashan carpet. The well-abrashed brown field of this central Persian urban carpet displays a pattern based on a large scale forked arabesque pattern defining floriated reserves. The minor borders have serpentine cloud band patterns and the ivory main border displays regular petal oblique amphora iris palmettes. The weave is fine and the reflective silk pile is cut fairly short.
