An antique Persian Tabriz carpet. This is another, more distant, variant of the “Vase carpet” pattern of full facing and diagonal palmettes in an allover pattern on a light grey-blue field. The design is spacious yet sufficiently detailed. The rust border employs regular palmettes alternating with diagonal ‘Vase’ palmettes with curling petals. All in all, a well-executed and attractive carpet from the 1920’s in top condition with a good, even weave.
