An antique Persian Bibikabad carpet. From an active weaving village in the Greater Hamadan district, this decorative west Persian room size displays a red-brown border of rosettes and cartouches in the Sarouk-Farahan style framing the light graphite field with an allover five column pattern of ragged palmettes, fringed lozenges and cloud band based buds. The pattern is well-spaced and the rug has an airy overall feel.
