An antique Persian Tabriz carpet. The allover palmette pattern has slipped in all directions on the rust-brown field of this well-constructed city carpet. The pattern pays a distant homage to the “Vase carpet’ style and there are diagonal “amphora” palmettes. The yellow-beige main border displays more such forms along with multi-petal palmettes and lancet leaves.
