An antique Persian Tabriz Hagi Jalili carpet. The cartouche-shaped open ivory ground is pointed and very slightly pinched and enclosed an ivory medallion with a dense floral infill. Big, lazy boteh-leaves dominate the narrow, ivory main border. This elegantly drawn and well-woven originates in the desirable ‘Hajji Jalili” period of Tabriz rug art, the later 19th century.
