An antique Persian Tabriz Hagi Jalili rug. The warm madder copper red field is dominated by four oblique corner vases and their cypress/boteh plants. A smaller, bi-axial unedged floral motif acts as a central medallion. The weave is fine and even. The color is era-specific and it appears only on the best rugs of the ‘Hajji Jalili’ period in the later 19th century.
