Antique Persian Tabriz Rug

An antique Persian Tabriz rug. This antique Tabriz scatter rug is designed in the style of certain Mohtashem Kashans of the later 19^th century. The rust cartouche-shaped field is centered by a tall, lobed medallion with geometricized floral elements framing and anchoring it.  In the corners are diagonally set shallow vases and emerging thin plants. The border is a Tabriz giveaway with the end sections running straight across instead of turning in the Kashan manner.
