An antique Teodor Tuduk Pictorial carpet. This is a well-woven, creative interpretation of the classic Persian animal and jungle carpet decorated with cypress and other trees and featuring feline predators attacking ruminants. Here both predators and prey are spotted while birds sing in the flowering trees on the brownfield. A narrow blue border displays simple rosettes and slanted leaves. The design is basically symmetric along a tall central axis and the drawing is rustically chunky. A forgery or a historizing interpretation?
