An antique Turkish Oushak carpet. The buff field displays five columns of ragged palmette and leafy lozenge motives (yaprak design) floating independently within an ivory border of rosettes and hyacinths in the Ottoman manner. The pattern of this west Anatolian workshop rug goes back to the Smyrna-Oushak 18th century carpets.
