A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. Signed “Halime” and dated 1979. The medium-brown field displays a central squarish ecru medallion containing four stylized peacocks in ivory, taupe, black, pale pink, and muted lavender. Two similar ivory peacocks appear above, while a partial hooked device is positioned below. The charcoal-gray to near-black border features stars, diagonal bars, and small geometric motifs in taupe, pink, orange, gray, and brown. Probably originally woven as a yastik, or cushion cover.
