A vintage Afghan Kilim rug in runner format handmade during the mid-20th century. This totally tribal piece, probably from western Afghanistan, combines knotted pile, soumak weave, and weft float weaves to create this unusual piece of textile folk art. The paneled field is decorated in ivory, orange, wine red, black and royal blue. The end sections repeat the field designs on a wider scale. Bits of garment fabric add to the authentic charm.
