A vintage Central Asian Tekke rug. In an unusual square format for a nomadic Turkmenistan Tekke carpet, this all wool piece has six columns, each of 13 quartered classic Tekke guls in ivory and burnt apricot, all on the rich red-brown grounds. The border displays octagons with four internal stars and an extra (elem) panel at each end with a fringed lozenge pattern. The pile is relatively short and is of good quality wool.
