Vintage Central Asian Turkoman Pictorial Rug

A vintage Central Asian Turkoman Pictorial rug. A very odd design mélange with a dark red and rust ground showing a central ivory panel enclosing two confronted roosters, within a border of tiny goats and with panels of rabbits above and below. These are followed by wider sections, each presenting Tekke guls, and two saddled horses in orange and ivory.  A strip at each end of stylized birds ends this unusual creation.
