A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The weave is very robust and solid, much more compact than the usual run of antique and pre-WWII Peking rugs, so maybe this is a post-Mao creation. The field is covered by broken diagonal lines of rosettes within small, stepped diamonds. The dark lines seem to go from bottom right to top left. The counter flow is definitely weaker with far fewer dark blue rosettes. Central narrow border of fret design and inner with Greek key fret pattern.
