Vintage Indian Lahore Room Size Carpet

A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. A horizontally balanced yet vertically mobile, moderately scaled Herati allover pattern covers the bone field of this urban piece. The bone strip-style main border presents semi-geometric reversing turtle palmettes in the Mahal manner. Rust and slate accents appear throughout both the field and the border.
