An antique Indian Lahore rug. This is a fully realized interpretation of a classic 17th century in-and-out palmette and cloudband design on a red field by an early 20th century northern Indian carpet workshop. The weave is as fine and the level of detail is higher than on the originals. The wool quality is good and the weavers were quite professional. There are no weak passages or adventitious irregularities in the design. Needs top quality furniture to show off its best.
