Vintage Malayer Persian Rug

A vintage Malayer Persian rug. The well-abrashed slate to graphite field features a close pattern of small hexagons, tiny diamonds, diminutive squares, and other geometric ornaments, and presents a similarly patterned tall, stepped octagonal panel centered by a buff, large-stepped cartouche. again, similarly patterned. The rose-brown border shows simply drawn stretched turtle palmettes. Unusual, Heriz-like design for Malayers.
