A Wool pile with symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This group of tribal Afshar rugs is beloved for its layered cartouche pattern, centered around a sand-colored, multiply-hooked pole medallion, with three turrets at each end. The field and sub-cartouche are a brownish-red, while the surrounding cartouche is a tawny gold. The sides feature stepped echoes of the end motifs. The main sand-colored border displays doubly connected stars as the prominent repeat. The weave is moderate and firm.
