Ardebil production began after WWII, featuring pieces in a quasi-Caucasian geometric style. A large rust-red octogram, with a central octagon, is set on a pale blue field adorned with numerous ingenious horizontal rectangular motifs closely packed together. Four half-octagons, reminiscent of the Kuba sumak style, frame the sides. A deep yellow border with chains of diamonds and filler triangles completes the design.
