Vintage Persian Bakhtiari Pictorial Rug

A vintage Persian Bakhtiari Pictorial rug. This mixed technique – knotted pile and weft-faced striped beige and dark brown wool plain weave - piece, probably Bakhtiari, shows a panel with a semi-abstract sword-bearing lion with a rising sun-face behind. The pile area is bounded by a dark blue border with red flowers and a lower red/white/black striped section. A very unusual and genuine rustic creation.
