Vintage Persian Flatweave

A vintage Persian Flatweave. In a flat tapestry weave, this rustic Persian piece has a chessboard design of small squares grouped into two stepped and nested medallions in off white, red, rust orange, light teal, medium blue and dark blue. Some squares are bitonally speckled and there is nothing figurative in the pattern. The abrashed dark blue and black triangle border appears only on the sides with one side slightly wider, resulting from two distinct weavers at work.
